Grace Hopper

Grace Hopper was a United States Navy Rear Admiral. She was born on December 9, 1906 in New York City, New York and died on January 1, 1992.  She was also a programmer that worked on the Harvard Mark I, the first computer. She was the first to discover a computer bug – a moth that had flown into the computer hardware - which she taped into her logbook (Scheiber, 1987). Click to see Grace's Biography
